Mike Moore’s chance encounter 30 years ago with a calligrapher at a department store started him on his calligraphy journey. The store’s calligrapher was writing beautiful holiday gift tags in a modified Copperplate style, which caught his attention. He started taking classes from her, then dabbled in Copperplate enough to address his own wedding invitation 10 years later. Later he became enamored with Spencerian and wrote a letter to IAMPETH Master Penman Michael Sull, asking his advice as to how to make his handwriting better; the envelope and nameplate Michael sent back are framed and on Mike’s living room wall to this day. He lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
