Michael is the artist and penman behind Mr. M. G. Ward Penmanship and Design, a lettering and leather burning studio based out of Los Angeles, California. Michael has studied the craft with some of the very best penman and calligraphers in the world, including Master Penman Michael Sull, Harvest Crittenden, and Jake Weidmann. Known for graceful lines and beautiful flourishes, the traditional Spencerian hand (used originally for business purposes in the 1800s and early 1900s) is the focus of most of Michael’s study.
