Nina Sandelin Umont is a former data analyst who chose calligraphy as a hobby in 2015 in her quest for a creative outlet, and transformed it into a life-changing career. She is the owner of Sandelin Designs, a calligraphy and engraving studio in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her company is named after the original Nina Sandelin, her great-great grandmother who moved from Lund, Sweden to Oakland, California in the 1850s. Nina focuses on flourished, traditional scripts and is passionate about creating beauty where there was once blank paper. She has been featured in Ceremony Magazine, Inspired By This, and Green Wedding Shoes, and was awarded The Knot’s Best of Weddings.
